Moment in Time - school gala

WALT use descriptive vocabulary to describe a moment in time.

What I fowd tricky is remembering everything that happend in 2017.What i did well was adding punctuation and good vocabulary. I can extend myself next time by adding more detail.

Puanga and Matariki

WALT find out what students at one school do to celebrate the Māori New Year. WALT to use the main ideas to summarise the text.   

Me and my reading group have been learning about Puanga. The most interesting thing I learnt was the Puanga or Orion's Belt I never new want Puanga was until I read this book.What surprised me ween I read this book was a history capsule I had no idea that you could bery some thing you love and forget it and dig it up and remember it all over again ween your older.

SJ L2 2018 - The Plastic Free Challenge

WALT find out some of the causes, effects, and solutions for plastic pollution

To get rid of plastic at school we could wrap everyone's sandwiches in lunch paper instead

of cling film. And replace shop-bought muesli bars with

Homemade ones.at home we could instead of using plastic bags we use rubber.have you seen a garbage Patch in the middle of the ocean?It’s a mass of floating rubbish in the Pacific Ocean.

Most of the rubbish is plastic that’s been thrown away

by humans.

The students of Room 5 at Motueka South
School watched a video about it. The video showed

images of dead or injured sea creatures. Some had

eaten the plastic. Others had become tangled in it.

Rounding and Compensating

WALT solve addition equations using the rounding and compensating strategy. 

Write at least 3 sentences explaining your learning to your readers. i.e What did I do well? What was tricky? How I can  extend myself next time?

We had to answer the equations with the strategy Rounding and Compensating it is a really efficient strategy.All you have to is +1 or +2 or +3 to the nearest tidy number.it was tricky to work out what the answer is.I can extend by being smarter in my maths. 

Bubble Memories

We have been creating a slide show of my Memories in my bubble.

We were learning what we were doing in each others bubble.I liked the part  ween we had to choose the pitchers for what we were doing in our bubbles.

First We had to plan in our red books to help us write what we did in our bubbles. Second we had to write and use our ideas from our plan into our writing. Third we had to type out the writing into a goggle doc.

What I did well was making my writing easy to see so people can read it clearly. What is found tricky was trying to remember what I did in lock down! but I got the hang of it. Next time I want to level my writing up by adding more detail.
