water fun day

This is my Recount writing
of our Water fun day.

After lunch on Wednesday, our whole school took part in a water fun swim.  Me and my friends slipped into our togs and I was so excited I was struggling to put my togs on. We all dashed to our class line and waited for Mrs Radich to give us instructions.

Mrs Radich told us to run past the playground and into the sprinklers and then go behind Te Kauru on the field.  The first activity I did was called the black water slide of soap.  My friend Atama went first and he yelled, “Cheer hoo!” And then he dove and slided to the end of the mat.  Sliding on the black polythene mat, we had to sprint up to and then slide upon it! There was a sprinkler that sprayed the mat that Mrs Radich and Mrs Windelborn set up and they put soap on the mat so we went faster.  Next me and my friend Nico went into our school war pool! Our school pool was now turned into a war of water guns.  We grabbed some guns  and headed to our school war pool.  I yelled, “Ready to go to war Nico?” He replied,”Yeah!” We took a deep breath and dove in.  Me and Nico spent the rest of the afternoon in the pool and then Mrs Stevenson told us to,”Pack up your guns and go get changed.” After that Me and Nico got changed and I sighed, “What a day.” And then We got on the bus and went home.

Reflection

I think the best part of that day was the school pool. Even though I only did two activities I think the pool was the best.  But I didn't try the blue tube water slide on our playground. So if we do it again I’m definitely going to do that event first.

Tsunami Warning

  WALT: Write a narrative

Tsunami Warning 8/

Last Friday it was just a normal day school and then we started doing our maths.  All good times, then suddenly I heard phones and bells ringing off.  IT WAS A TSUNAMI WARNING We quickly ripped our bags from the bag hooks and speeded out To our schools whare. We sat down while Mrs Stevenson gave us the instructions on what to do.  I felt scared and worried for my Family and my little sister but my friend Nico cherd me up.Next we ran out to the car parks and cross the road to the Hill Ngatu but we saw cars truck rushing past, I saw Mrs Juijnovich stopping the cars so we could cross the road.  After that we started going up the hill we stopped and had a little Morning tea break and then one of our teachers,Whaea deb told us to move to a higher spot just in case the Tsunami really did happen and got closer.  That’s when I saw the brilliant view on top of the hill.  I also saw Lake Ngatu being dried up, I heard kids in Te Kakano screaming. Then our teachers told us  to move out a little bit more so we set up a gazebo and some mats for us to sit under. Then I saw this big huge trailer and it was a barbecue and some juicy and yummy sausages and I heard the phones  ringing again and we were given the all clear.  I heard all the teachers sigh with relief.  My Aunty arrived and I went with her back to my Mums and Dads work.
