Math Strategies - Addition and Subtraction

Coopers Beach Camp

My highlights  were  when we were playing slippery hockey and I tripped and face planted. My other highlight the grass sleds because my dad pushed me super super fast!!!My favorite part of camp was eating all the delicious food  and the water slide because when my dad went down he went slow and when I  went down I went fast!!!

Manaiakalani Film Festival

Today our class and 8 people from Te kuru we saw the red carpet I felt like a celebrity.My favourite film was the braking news robbery because it had my friends Danja,Calibe,Tane,cail and enzo and at the end Tane fixed the play ground with a stapler.My 2nd favourite was the trespasser because when the trespasser was trying to break into a house someone called out hey who da on my property.

Rugby World Cup - Food in Georgia

In Georgia one of the famous food is Badrijani to make it you have to choose straight eggplants whose bottoms are not significantly larger than their tops for this recipe, as they yield more-uniform slices. Slender Chinese eggplants work well and are the type most commonly found in Georgia.

Make Ahead: The filling benefits from a few hours' rest in the refrigerator. The salted eggplant slices need to sit for 30 minutes. The filling can be made up to 3 days in advance (and should ideally be made a day ahead for eating). The eggplant can be fried 1 day before eating. Store the filling and eggplant, separate and covered, in the refrigerator. It's best to assemble the rolls no more than a couple of hours before you eat it that is how you make Badrijani.

Rugby World Cup - Georgia

This term my class were learning about rugby world cup my country is Georgia the population is 10.52 million. The capital city is Tiblisi and the main language is Abkhaz. The main Religion is Christianity and one name of the Georgia rugby player is Vasil Lobzhanidze.

First Draft -Duffy Theatre

Duffy was so excited because he was going to his cousins house for the holidays.when he arrived Duffy said Hi to Sam.Sam was ignoring him because he was magic brisks the toke down her and she went rage Duffy said calm down it's just a game Sam said  it's not just a game it's a whole world! Duffy said OK OK books are still cooler though Sam said no gaming is way better.  Duffy said hey do you what to read a book

 get me one.Then Duffy  came back and then put Nana's glasses and he did the dumpling dance then he got sucked into the game and arrived in the Hall of Mirrors and a computer voice said new player chose your skin.Duffy said what were am I then Sam said dufy your in the video game

Tonga has no written history about things that happened long ago but it does have oral history.

burden means a heavy load that someone has to carry.

 a historian is someone who talks about the past.

gateway mean a entrench to a house or farm.

structure means something that is built by several pieces.

 lintel means a piece of timber that goes across top of a door or window.

The Hare and the Tortoise

Today everyone went to the old Te Kauru to watch the NZ play house perform a show called the Hare and the Tortoise. It was my birthday, it was the right time! Once we sat there was a girl trying to put rope on a pole and everyone was laughing.

Kai Pai Kai with Whaea Anna

Walt cook healthy food with Whaea Anna.She is teaching us all about healthy eating.

We are going to make pancakes.

My group is group 3 and in my group is Cleo,Tenia,Lucy and Alani.

Our recipe needs banana,flour, 2 eggs milk and the equipment we will use is a pan, bowl and measuring spoons.

Did you know the sun evaporates a trillion tonnes of water each day and 70% of the earths surface is water. 

When I stared the video I  felt excited. Alani and I worked well with each other. 

The lion king movie - First Draft

  On Thursday we went to Te Ahu centre to watch the lion king movie. my favourite setting was pride rock. The characters are nala simba scar pumba timon shenzi rafiki zazu mufasa. 

   My favourite part in the movie was when pumba farted.

Tuna Kuwharuwharu (Longfin Eel)

This term we have been learning all about longfin eels. 

Our assembly  item was based on the story of Velvet and Elvis. This was a story about  the migration journey that the longfin eel takes.

I have created 3 different digital learning object (DLO) to share my learning on this topic.`

The first is a poster that I created in my topic book about the challenges to the long fin eel. 

I used google drawing to share the life cycle of the longfin eel.

Lastly, I used google docs to create a poster to share 5 interesting facts about the longfin eel.

Wonderful Waitangi Writing

Last Tuesday I got to school early because our class was going to Waitangi to learn new things using 
technology. When we arrived Whaea Kerry and whaea Monika greeted the class, inside we saw pictures of maori people in the hall. I rushed to the colourful bean bags and put my brain on! I was so excited I was going to pass out. 

Secondly we talked about the Eels life cycle. Then Whaea Kerry's  friend Caitlin showed us some old rocks and the pounamu almost cut my finger and one was used to cut down a tree. After that we did an unplugged activity, it was called mixed up cards ,I loved it.

I made an Eel in paint 3D I tried to put glasses on it and it went way to big!Then we went on scratch I made my avatar say look kiarn theirs an Eel. I made kiarn say ahhhhh!

Lastly we went around the house at the and there was a bridge and there were eels!I saw a big long fin eel by the cafe next to the bridge and I called him Mr wonky eye. I really loved it and I wish we could go again. 
      
         

School Gala Writing

This is the day I was waiting for the PAPARORE SCHOOL gala day!!!  I was soooooooooo!! excited i was going to pass out.I ran like the flash but nooooooooooooooo it was closed 2 minutes later it was open. I got 40 or 50 tickets and  got some chips hot dogs slushies taotao ferters with my mum.I wethe harley davidsons the blue nt on bike was crazy   fast.There was a hot pipe on the bike I almost touched hot pipe but luckily I didn’t theI saw my cousin jayden he hopped on a little bike I laughed.The next ride we went on was the slide we had to race up and down I got up the top jayden got stuck in the middle.I left him behind Ween he got stuck he was moving and shaking but he avenchale got through.we raced to the rock climbing wall I made it halfway jayden made it all the way I was jalis it was easy for jayden but not for me it was hard because the rocks were clawed into my hands.WE went to the golf by the old te kauru I got 3 goals jayden got two.my mum siad one more ride we said ok.we went to the luckily dip on the cort I got a spring jayden got a cup I laughed the end.

Holiday Writing

In the Holidays  me and my dad and cousin and also uncle dago went fishing. I was riding on the boat on the way there. Me and dago had to hold the boat when my dad parked the car. My dad came back and stared up the motor, we all hopped on .We drove to a nice spot we caught 2 king fish 5 snapper 1 marlin 3 kahawhy and 2 flounders.My dad was sooooooooo happy I was too we went back home and cooked the kai moana with some  paua and cream .The spot that we went to had dolphins too my dad knew there were there were king fish and kahawhy there .

A marine reserve is a place that is protected and you can't take everything from it. We need marine reserves because there will be more food for the future. When a marine reserve is not protected kina take over and there will be no kelp and nowhere for the fish and crayfish to live.
